Barefoot in the Park
by Neil Simon

Paul and Corie are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she’s a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find – too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a quick honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker with their neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco, at a dinner where everything that can go wrong does. Paul just doesn’t understand Corie, as she sees it. He’s too staid, too boring, and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous. Running “barefoot in the park” would be a start…

Theatre for Explorers: You & I (1-3 years of age)

Host: Theatre Jacksonville
Click for Details

Our sixty minute show, You & I is a theatrical performance designed specifically for parents and caregivers with toddlers between the ages of 12 months and 3 years old. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to take off their shoes, sit on the floor, relax and observe their little play-goers experience. This is a theatrical performance created and directed for toddlers, but it is also a demonstration for parents and caregivers of the ways in which everyday objects, sounds, and activities can become tools to help engage, stimulate, and connect with their ever changing stages of development. Toddlers will sometimes be inspired to engage with the actors by moving and vocalizing as they perform. This is completely normal behavior and it is always welcome. As parents and caregivers, you will also sometimes need to take care of your little during a performance. Do whatever you need to do to tend to your child's needs first and foremost. So come with friends. Or come to meet a new friend. Above all - Enjoy!

The Classic in San Marco: A Doll's House

Host: Theatre Jacksonville
Click for Details

A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen. A New Version by Amy Herzog. Live theatrical evening and matinee performances. Tickets start at $31.

Nominee: Six 2023 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Play Winner! Three 2023 Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Adaptation

Young housewife Nora Helmer comes to the disturbing realization that she has spent her entire marriage, and indeed most of her life, pretending to be the person that her husband, her father, and society expect her to be. Ibsen’s celebrated play explores the ways that societal expectations restrict individuals, especially women. Its success when it premiered in 1879 thrust drama firmly into the modern age. Amy Herzog’s thrilling, compact and devastatingly contemporary adaptation makes freshly relevant a story that shocked audiences and brought forth a new era of theatre.

“It is a thing of beauty, this play… the story is clear, unmuddied by all the usual strutting and fretting… it’s thrilling.” – Variety
