Intro To Breathwork

Intro to Breathwork: Awakening the Breath, Reconnecting with Self: A gentle, educational, and experiential workshop. Join breathwork facilitator Kurt Rogers of Activated Awakening, for a heart-centered introduction to the power of the breath. This 120-minute workshop is designed for those new to breathwork as well as anyone seeking more peace, clarity, and connection in their life. Through a blend of guided practices, gentle education, and experiential breathing techniques, participants will learn how to use the breath to regulate the nervous system, release tension, and reconnect with the wisdom of the body. You’ll be guided through foundational breath techniques—including Box Breathing, 4-7-8, and Heart-Centered Breath—and experience a short conscious connected breathwork journey, followed by time for journaling, integration, and optional group sharing. Expect to leave feeling grounded, centered, and more in tune with yourself. No prior experience with breathwork is necessary—just a willingness to breathe and be present.

Beer & Brats 5K

Join 1st Place Sports for an Oktoberfest evening in the San Marco Square! Start with a festive 5K and one mile run/walk though scenic San Marco, then enjoy free beer and brats.
5K starts at 5 PMOne mile starts at 6 PM
This event will feature interactive games for participants to enjoy starting at 3:30p, throughout and after the race. Games will include axe throwing, basketball shoot, football pass and kick, and more traditional Oktoberfest games. Be sure to wear your favorite Tracht (Tra-oct) outfit. Women, dress up in a traditional dirndl (Deern-dul) (dress) and men, sport your lederhosen (Lay-der-hozen) shorts. All entrants will receive a race shirt, and an official custom designed beer mug and a medal when you finish.  Each participant is entitled to free beer and a bratwurst. Local brewery Tepeyolot Cerveceria will be present to serve up the brew and Oom-Pah-pah music will be featured.

This is the 26th Art Festival in San Marco. Around 30 artists will pitch their tents in Balis Park for this two-day free Art Festival in the middle of historic San Marco Square. San Marco Celebrity Softball Game

Celebrate 100 years of San Marco with a little friendly competition and a lot of neighborhood pride. The San Marco Merchants Association and the San Marco Preservation Society are gearing up for a showdown on the diamond in a spirited game of Merchants vs. Residents!

Players have been practicing, announcers are in place, and team captains are ready to lead their crews to victory. It’s all in good fun, but make no mistake…the rivalry is real.

Story Time in the Square

Host: SMPS and San Marco Bookstore

Join the San Marco Preservation Society and the San Marco Bookstore for the monthly Story Time in the Square, taking place on the first Saturday of each month from 10-11 A.M. in Balis Park.

Kids of all ages are welcome, but stories will be geared towards our littles. Feel free to bring a chair or blanket, but don’t forget your imagination at home! Seating will be first come, first served, and the event will be held in the gazebo area, rain or shine (major weather systems excluded).
